1st Trial vs Hawkesbury Valley
One trial down, three to go. A day out to Hawkesbury is always a good point in the fixture list, and it was good that Hillies had the opportunity to get out there this year. The players and officials of Hawkesbury are always good to us, and were once again on hand to provide food, good banter and a boat race after the trials finished.
The games themselves offered plenty of food for thought for the coaches. It was a very positive afternoon, with all the games played in the right spirit, and Hawkesbury, as ever, always physical in the contact.
It was exciting to see the new Colts set-up take to the field and win their game 12-0. There was some great talent on display, and now with a win under their belt, the boys are moving in the right direction. Mal has been a great presence at training so far this year, with or without the rubber chicken. But with him coaching and Angry managing, it’s obvious the Colt’s are in good hands.
The 3rd/4th Grade Trial displayed how much depth we have, and gave some of the Colt’s a little more of a run out. it was a close game at 5-5, and plenty of positives to be taken away. Except Jordan playing full back, can someone please tell him he is a forward!
The 2nd and 1st Grade trials once again displayed our strength in depth. There was some fine passing, big hits and lovely off loading in the tackle (probably trying to emulate the Tah’s from Friday’s game). The pace and stamina was superior, but Hawkesbury still gave it go. The 2nd Grade ran out 29-0 winners and 1st Grade won by 17-0.
Well done to all those who made the trip on Saturday, and thanks for playing out of position when asked. It’s good to let the coaches see their options. And thank you to Hawkesbury Valley for looking after us, we wish them luck this season.
Colt’s Dinner
Last week saw the Colt’s all get together for drink and a meal at the Hunters Hill Hotel. It was a great success and there was a great turn out. Thanks to Angry, Mal, Rod, and all the players who turned up. And a big thanks to the HHH’S.

A call out to Managers and Linesman
We need to fill managers and linesman for each grade (attend a course to be accredited and able to report incidents to referees) every week.
Rule 14.3 Each club must have one accredited touch judge available to touch judge for every grade played each day.
Therefore we need at least 5 accredited in the club and one available for each game.
