The turn out for ladies day 2010 was the best one yet! A couple of stats for ladies day. 38 bottles of champagne, 1 case of beer, 8 bottles of white, 2 bottles of vodka and 1 case of apple cider were downed by roughly 50 ladies. AND THAT WAS WELL BEFORE THE END OF FIRST GRADE. Congratulations ladies on turning up to make it such a great day! Party goers were also provided with fantastic music, food from Crust Pizza and the divine one minute angels! At the end of the day it was hard to get the WAGS to leave! Next year we want to make it an even bigger effort! Special thanks goes to the Vertoudakis family, Brian Walker and Matt McRae for their efforts behind the scenes and on the day. It was a pleasure that the WAGS of this club didn't have to lift a finger! This event also wouldn't of happened without the help from our sponsors, again Crust Pizza Gladesville for the tasty food and the Hunters Hill Hotel for supplying a free drink to ladies at the afters.
Ladies' day 2010 was a resounding success. Such a success in fact, that 7
beautiful games of running rugby were ignored by the well-entertained wives,
girlfriends and female friends of Hunters Hill Rugby. A fantastic day of
great food, limitless drinks, a sound track of 50% Beyoncé (thanks to Jules
Arndt) and the occasional massage was enjoyed by all who attended. The newly
discovered hit of vodka jelly shots will surely make an appearance at
ladies' days to come, and the staples of seafood, champagne and cupcakes
were relished as usual. The injured players roster including Matt Macrae and
myself did a fine job to keep the day running smoothly and ensure every
glass was full. The one-armed nature of Brian Walker's barmanship was
applauded and the half-arsed nature of James Linfield's service did not
dissuade the ladies in the slightest. At the end of the day, as always, the
only thing that mattered was the ladies' opinions, and we could all enjoy
the echoes of 'best ladies day ever' heard around Stade Boronia.
